Spring Portraits at Dow Gardens

Every Spring, I purchase a yearly pass into Dow Gardens
which I'm fortunate to live near.

The gardens are exquisite in every season...especially SPRING!

Here in Michigan, we're still in the early part of Spring in early May,
but I visited the park and found this amazing groundcover of spring blossoms!

WOWEEEEE!  I was in heaven!
I like to shoot pretty location scenes so I can use them
for composites like this:

I laid flat on my stomach to get this next photo.
My eyes and heart were on overload with all the Spring splendor!

Dow Gardens has this wonderful rustic barn
where they keep all the gardening equipment.

I LOVE that it's GREEN!

When I saw the spring flowers near the barn, it
was STUNNING!

I climbed the hill to get these shots with the barn.

Spring flowers last only a few weeks, so I was very happy
I was at Dow Gardens to capture the early bloomers.

A little later, in May...the gardens explode with TULIPS!

Thousands of tulips in all colors and shapes!
That's where we did the Spring Vintage Val shoot last year.

The best part about Dow Gardens...it is a natural setting.
They do not fence off the flower gardens.

You are free to step right into them and take amazing photos!

It's absolutely BREATHTAKING!

Spring is a wonderful season for portraits.

Have your subject sit right among the
tulips or other bulb flowers.

This patch had all yellow tulips that
matched Val's vintage dress.

When I found that yellow dress at a thrift store,
I KNEW we had to do the shoot with the Dow Gardens' tulips!

A 70's flower child!

Take advantage of the Spring blooms and take lots of
portraits!
